Anyone have any experience there salvaging dead standing red oak? I have new forest clients with lots of large red oaks in the 20"+ dbh range that died after back-to-back gypsy moth infestations ca 2021. The tops are starting to fall apart, and bark is beginning to fruit fine fungus. 'Any thoughts: is it 'too late' to think the wood (and carbon) within is safely salvageable?
